Anthony Templet was found guilty of negligent homicide in March 2021 and given a five-year probationary period under supervision.
Everyone involved in the case, including the prosecution, exhibited exceptional empathy and concurred that the young guy in question had never had a life and deserved the opportunity to try to start one.
It was initially assumed that Anthony had killed his father cold-bloodedly because there were no details about either Anthony’s experiences or Burt’s behavior.
Still, as the facts emerged, public opinion started to shift. Eventually, he received help, had access to psychiatrists, and his biological mother was able to find him.
He was released on a lower $50,000 bail on December 19, 2019, with a few restrictions, such as a rigorous curfew and always wearing a GPS tracker.
As more horrifying information came to light, the District Attorney’s Office and Anthony’s defense attorney decided to offer the boy a negligent homicide plea.
So, in early March 2021, he entered a plea of no contest, for which He was given a five-year probationary term with credit for time already spent. He was also given instructions to finish high school, attend counseling, and choose between working or enrolling in full-time school.
He was also sentenced to five years of probation with no chance of release.
Therefore, even if Anthony likes to stay out of the spotlight, it’s not apparent what he’s doing these days. It appears he’s trying to live a normal life.
As far as it is known, he continues to live in Louisiana and is attempting to start again on his own, free from the intrusion of others. Now, all he needs for success is some guidance and his future.
Anthony said in the documentary, “Feeling in control of your life is extremely vital. In prison, your freedom is taken away, and I realized that… All I want is to be common. I want to go on with my life, be content, and be happy.
